Parents want to do a better job too! Throughout the year, the PTA sponsors several Parent Education events. Guest Speakers are invited to discuss topics of interest to the Duveneck parent community. Please stay tuned to the eNews for more information on dates.

Parent Ed: Regulating Emotions Through Breath – February 24, 7-8 pm 

The PTA at our neighboring elementary school, Walter Hays, is hosting a Parent Ed event on Thursday, February 24th. They’re inviting us to join them to hear from a panel of expert speakers on how to help children in understanding and regulating their emotions. Please find more information here. Child Development and Mental Health in the Context of the Global Pandemic Date: Monday, January 31st Time: 7:00 to 8:00 pm. The recent surge of Omicron and the ongoing stress of managing our lives with COVID has left our families feeling anxious and exhausted. To help our community, Duveneck, Walter Hayes, and Addison PTA’s have partnered together for a Parent Education event on January 31st focused on mental health. In this talk, local clinical psychologist Dr. Jenna Rinsky will discuss how this pandemic is specifically affecting our children and how we as parents can support them and ourselves during this time. We are parents and teachers who support Duveneck Elementary School in Palo Alto, CA. As a community, we help create the school we want our children to have by providing funding for school equipment and materials, hosting community events, and providing enrichment programs for parents, teachers and students.
