Inclusion and Learning Differences

The PTA promotes the inclusion of all students and their families. Organizing the events listed below, a PTA volunteer called a Special Ed/Inclusion Representative encourages inclusion and awareness of students with learning differences.

  • Inclusion 101 – an information coffee about Inclusion and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for parents.
  • UNITY DAY – part of Bullying Prevention Week celebrated across the country.  Wear orange to show that we are together against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
  • Parent Coffee – for parents who have academic concerns about their children and possible learning differences, social-emotional challenges, mental health and special education needs.
  • Inclusive Schools Week.
  • Abilities Awareness Week.

We are parents and teachers who support Duveneck Elementary School in Palo Alto, CA. As a community, we help create the school we want our children to have by providing funding for school equipment and materials, hosting community events, and providing enrichment programs for parents, teachers and students.
