Friday Treats

Friday Treats is a Duveneck tradition to show the faculty and staff a token of our appreciation by providing treats (food and drinks) on Friday mornings for the 10:00 am break in the Teachers’ Lounge.

Treats are brought in honor of a different teacher/aide each week and parents from that teacher’s classroom are the ones bringing the treats.

There should be enough food for all the Duveneck staff, around 50 people. So it is nice to get 4 or 5 volunteers. Volunteers coordinate with each others to decide who brings what. With a group of 5, it is easy to have a great “Friday Teacher Treats” set up.

Food suggestions :

  • finger foods, such as muffins, breads, pastries, coffee cakes (bagels are not the best choice because teachers get some the day after when the kids get theirs)
  • fruit sliced for finger eating or whole.
  • cheeses and crackers

Beverages, such as juices, are welcome; One gallon or 2 half gallons is generally sufficient. Coffee or tea is also a great choice.

Volunteers are also responsible for setup and cleanup (very light). Setup has to be done before 10 am, and can even be done when you drop off your child(ren) in the morning.

It is a great volunteering opportunity for working parents, as you are welcome to just buy or bake some treats and bring it in the morning before you head out to work.

Thank you in advance for volunteering and let us know if you have questions/suggestions. Please stay tuned to the eNews for more information or email us at
